IBM Power HMC is used to manage fleets of IBM Power servers running PowerVM.

It's a Linux-based appliance with a restricted shell environment resembling POSIX, but so heavily restricted that running skonfig on it is not doable (e.g. running scripts is prohibited by the shell).

When root access is unlocked, it's just a heavily customized version of RHEL 8/9 with systemd and as such already has most of what skonfig needs.

This change enables (most of) the skonfig base types to work on HMCs.

Even if most of it works, however, this is not meant for use in production. Your IBM customer engineer would be pretty unhappy seeing you use this.

It's merely an experiment showing what can be done with skonfig 😃
