I wrote a function to add rowtitles and opened a PR here
If you want to use this function in the meantime, you can access it here.
I'm finding a common use-case is I'm making a patchwork of patchworks (nested patchworks) and I want to insert some kind of row titles to more informatively separate different rows of plots.
