Adds an ISPDB entry for freenet Mail (
freenet.de), a large German freemail provider that is not in the database yet (autoconfig.thunderbird.net/v1.1/freenet.dereturns 404).What freenet already publishes
config-v1.1.xmlathttps://autoconfig.freenet.de/mail/config-v1.1.xml(IMAP 993, POP3 995, SMTP 587), so Thunderbird's ISP lookup already works forfreenet.de. Other consumers of the ISPDB — and the<enable>hint below, which the provider's file lacks — are what this entry adds._submission._tcp.freenet.de→mx.freenet.de:587; there is no_imaps._tcp-style record for SMTPS.Contents
All values are taken from freenet's own material, nothing is guessed:
mx.freenet.de993 (SSL) / 143 (STARTTLS), SMTPmx.freenet.de465 (SSL) / 587 (STARTTLS), username = full e-mail address.Source: https://kundenservice.freenet.de/faq/e-mail-client-mail/einstellungen-serverdaten-fuer-alle-e-mail-programme/
mx.freenet.de995 (SSL): from freenet's own autoconfig file (the help page recommends IMAP and does not list POP3).<enable>: access for e-mail clients is off until the user ticks „POP3, IMAP und SMTP aktivieren" in the webmail settings (Einstellungen → POP3/IMAP/SMTP → Einrichtung POP3/IMAP). The instruction is given in English and German.Source: https://kundenservice.freenet.de/faq/e-mail-client-mail/pop3-imap-und-smtp-aktivieren/
Verification
Hostnames and ports match the provider's help page and its own autoconfig file (checked 2026-09-21). I do not have a freenet account, so this has not been verified with an actual login.
