Studio IT is an email hosting provider serving multiple customer domains.

All hosted domains use the same mail infrastructure:

  • MX server: baldur.studio-it.pl
  • IMAP: imap.studio-it.pl, port 143, STARTTLS
  • POP3: pop3.studio-it.pl, port 110, STARTTLS
  • SMTP: smtp.studio-it.pl, port 587, STARTTLS
  • Authentication: Full email address and password

This pull request adds the provider configuration for studio-it.pl to the Thunderbird ISPDB.

Our goal is to enable Thunderbird to discover the correct mail settings for customer domains whose MX records point to baldur.studio-it.pl, without requiring an individual ISPDB entry for each hosted domain.

We also maintain a self-hosted Autoconfig endpoint at:

https://autoconfig.studio-it.pl/mail/config-v1.1.xml

Please let us know if any additional configuration or changes are required to support MX-based discovery for our hosted domains.

Hi @sw-studio-it, and thanks for your PR!

As documented in the repository's wiki, clients such as Thunderbird perform additional lookups using the domain's MX record if they failed to look up a configuration using the email domain. In your case, considering the MX records your customers are instructed to create point to baldur.studio-it.pl, this means clients should query https://autoconfig.studio-it.pl/mail/config-v1.1.xml, which as you mentioned already provides a configuration file.

Have you been experiencing issues with this flow? (if so it might be a client implementation problem rather than an autoconfig/ispdb one)
