Opening thread sheets can hang in a SwiftUI update loop. CI main-thread samples showed repeated thread construction and timer teardown during sheet layout. A focused Observation regression reproduced the problem locally: releasing a temporary ThreadAutoRefresher invalidated the view evaluation that created it.
Keep timer handles, cached settings, and callbacks outside Observation. Initialize the refresher without starting a timer; the existing thread appearance/scene lifecycle starts it. Deinitialization cancels the subscription without mutating observable UI state. The regression failed before this change and checks that temporary construction/destruction creates no invalidation.
CI captures app stacks during testing and gives the test step a 20-minute limit within the 30-minute job limit, leaving time to upload diagnostics. Existing UI regressions remain enabled.
Validation: the new regression failed on the old timer lifecycle and passes with the fix. All 68 unit tests and 8 browsing UI tests pass on iPhone 17 / iOS 26.5. Unsigned Release device build passed; SwiftLint reports 16 existing warnings. Full GitHub validation is running.
