Review comments at @docs/ipad-testing.md:
- Line 40: Update the orientation-setting instructions in docs/ipad-testing.md
at line 40 and docs/iphone-duo-testing.md at line 106 to use XCTest’s
GALLERY_CAPTURE_ORIENTATION key, which testPrepareGalleryCaptureOrientation
reads, instead of TEST_RUNNER_GALLERY_CAPTURE_ORIENTATION; alternatively,
explicitly document the runner mapping to that key in both guides.
Review comments at @swiftchanUITests/BrowsingUITests.swift:
- Around line 171-177: Update captureCatalogNavigation so its orientation
assertions run only for gallery captures, while retaining the existing
DUO_CAPTURE and orientation checks. Pass an explicit gallery-orientation flag at
gallery capture calls and leave it disabled for catalog and fullscreen captures.

Gallery images and videos currently show image/thumbnail search and the media counter on every page. They now open with both hidden: tap the media to reveal them, tap again to hide them, and paging, zooming, or seeking clears them. The optional thumbnail strip uses the same tap; close and long-press actions stay available.
Bump the local build to 1.3 (6). Add image and local WebM regressions for tap toggles, preview preferences, double-tap zoom, long-press actions, paging, browser handoff, and returning to the selected post. Document native capture preparation and check iPad window orientation before video presentation, where XCTest can report a zero-sized accessibility window.
Validation: 95 unit tests and all three focused gallery UI tests passed on iOS 26.5. Both gallery walkthroughs passed on iPhone Air, open Duo (verified 180°), iPad mini portrait, and iPad Pro landscape. Eight actual simulator clips passed full FFmpeg and AVFoundation decoding; 32 full-resolution PNG frames from those recordings were packaged at
../iphone-duo-review/2026-10-05-gallery/review/. Changed-file SwiftLint has only the existing UI test file-length warning; package lockfiles match and project plist/diff checks pass. The existing Files export test now allows 60 seconds for the first picker: hosted diagnostics showed Files initialization continuing after its former 20-second limit. Its picker and filename checks are unchanged, and the targeted export test passed on a fresh iPhone 17 simulator. Hosted CI passed: 118 tests passed, 6 skipped, zero failures.
