Herdr and Yazi test builds now set Fedora’s Rust codegen-units flag to 16, instead of relying on a Cargo profile setting that Fedora’s RUSTFLAGS overrides. This changes %check compilation only; release build flags remain unchanged. Herdr’s package notes document the effective setting, and copr-cli is included in the core toolchain install command.

📝 Walkthrough

COPR publishing now runs through a manual workflow that validates changes and submits explicitly selected packages. The workflow uses the event commit SHA. RPM test-build configuration for herdr and yazi now sets codegen units to 16.

Changes: Manual COPR publishing

Layer / File(s) Summary
Explicit package selection
.github/scripts/select_packages.py, .github/scripts/changed_packages.py, tests/test_validation.py
The new selector discovers package directories with matching spec files and validates comma-separated selections. The previous changed-package detection script and its related tests are removed. Tests retain checks for sorted, deduplicated selections and invalid or empty input.
Validated manual publish workflow
.github/workflows/copr-publish.yml
The workflow is triggered manually. Publishing follows validation, uses the selector with PUBLISH_PACKAGES, and uses github.sha. The previous workflow-run trigger, GitHub API lookup, and changed-package selection are removed.
Publishing and build guidance
AGENTS.md, docs/copr.md, docs/development.md, docs/toolchain.md
The guidance describes manual workflow or local submission, validation before local submission, and build diagnosis. The tool installation command now includes copr-cli.

RPM test-build codegen units

Layer / File(s) Summary
Test-build codegen configuration
packages/herdr/herdr.spec, packages/yazi/yazi.spec, packages/herdr/README.md
The test configuration uses the RPM macro rustflags_codegen_units set to 16. The herdr README states the same value.

Local COPR submission may stall while maintainers find the authentication setup. The change is mergeable with a documentation follow-up.

Drop the workflow_run auto-publish so merging a PR never resubmits
builds already run manually or via copr-cli. Manual dispatch stays
(validate, then submit the selected packages from the chosen branch).
Replace changed_packages.py with a small select_packages.py, drop the
unused change-detection tests, and update the docs.
