Depending on whether you're using 'PT-Papa' or 'PT-Thrify' there is some configuration that can be done via the UI, these settings are stored in the libs/config.py file.

More settings can be accessed by editing the file directly (use 'Thonny' and stop the application), though note the values are not sanitized so if you write garbage the application may crash or do weird stuff.

Generally each parameter has an active value followed by a list of permitted values, some parameters are 'free-range' without the permitted list.... use caution/sensible values.

Setting

These are values which affect the LTC/Timecode output. Most are pretty self explanatory.

setting = {
    'framerate' : ['30', ['30', '29.97', '25', '24', '23.98']],
    'dropframe' : ['No', ['No', 'Yes']],
    'output'    : ['Mic', ['Mic', 'Line']],
    'flashframe': ['0', ['Off', '0', '11']],
    'tc_start'  : "01000000",
}

Notes:

  • flashframe can actually be any positive value, I offered a list with 11 as that's what my UltraSync-One does.
  • tc_start is not validated for drop-frame correctness.
  • you can set 25fps-drop-frame if you really want.

Userbits

Affect LTC/Timecode ouput, again self explanatory.

userbits = {
    'userbits' : ['Name', ['Name', 'Digits', 'Date']],
    'ub_name'   : "PICO",
    'ub_digits' : "12345678",
    'ub_date'   : "Y74-M02-D01+0000",
}

Notes:

  • Date is ST-309 format, the trailing [+-]0000 is offset from UTC. It doesn't set the Daylight savings bit.

pt_papa

Settings specific to 'PT-Papa'.

pt_papa = {
    'startmode' : ['Run', ['Run', 'Monitor', 'Jam']],
    'display'   : ['Pico1.3', ['None', 'Pico1.3', 'SSD1306']],
    'board'     : ['Rev1', ['None', 'Rev1']],
    'powersave' : ['Off', ['Off', 'Screen']],
    'zoom'      : ['No', ['No', 'Yes']],
    'automon'   : ['No', ['No', 'Yes']],
    'calibrate' : ['No', ['No', 'Once', 'Always']],
}

pt-thrifty

Settings specific to 'PT-Thrifty'

pt_thrifty = {
    'pcb_rev'   : 2,
    'neopixel' : ['GRB', ['None', 'RGB', 'GRB']],
    '7seg'      : ['None', ['None', 'HT16K33Segment', 'HT16K33Segment14']],
    'mon_mute'  : ['Yes', ['No', 'Yes']],
}

Notes:

  • neopixel sets the colour order for the NeoPixel, I have some 'clone' boards which don't match the order that's used on the Waveshare board.
