The #456 merge-queue run failed the cold transcript budget without contemporaneous memory or swap evidence. Reuse the existing resource sampler in desktop CI, print its low-memory summary, and retain a separate desktop-runner-memory artifact after ordinary test failures. Existing E2E artifact paths remain intact.
This is diagnostic evidence, not a performance fix: the five fresh launches, 500 ms gate, assertions, retry behavior and job timeout remain unchanged. Sampling has observer overhead and can miss spikes shorter than ten seconds. The original failure remains unresolved.
Validation: pnpm build and pnpm test passed with 2,271 passes, 26 skips and zero failures. Local sampler smoke and filtered actionlint passed; the initial lint finding is the existing unsupported code-quality permission. Independent static review found no actionable findings. Hosted sampling persistence and artifact collection remain to be verified.
