Adds the Selling Partner API for Support v2025-02-01, released by Amazon in September, as amazonConnection.Support.

Operations

Operation Method
listCases (POST /support/2025-02-01/cases) ListCases / ListCasesAsync, ListCasesByNextToken
getCase GetCase / GetCaseAsync
listContacts ListContacts / ListContactsAsync, ListContactsByNextToken

ListCases and ListContacts follow the same paging pattern as ExternalFulfillmentShipment.GetShipments: they page through nextToken internally, honour MaxNumberOfPages, and leave the next token on the parameter object for manual paging.

Notes

  • Models in AmazonSpApiSDK/Models/Support are generated from Amazon's support_2025-02-01.json in the existing swagger-codegen style.
  • Fields the model marks x-amzn-api-internal (ListCasesRequest.marketplaceId, ListCasesRequest.sortField, Case.lastOutboundDate) are left out, as they are not in the public reference.
  • Amazon has not published usage plans for this API yet, so the rate limits are conservative defaults (1 req/s, burst 1). The limiter picks up the real value from the x-amzn-RateLimit-Limit header after the first response.
  • Requires the Selling Partner Support (Restricted) role.

Also included

  • SupportSample.cs and a README section.
  • SupportTests (13 cases): deserialisation of Amazon's sandbox responses, request body and query serialisation, validation, and rate-limit registration. The full test suite passes.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added support for Selling Partner Support API v2025-02-01.
    • Added case listing, retrieval, and contact listing with filtering, sorting, pagination, and asynchronous access.
    • Added support for email, chat, and phone contact details, attachments, appointments, and case information.
    • Added usage examples and documentation covering required permissions and attachment URL expiry.
  • Tests

    • Added coverage for Support API serialization, validation, pagination, and rate-limit handling.

Implements the three Support API operations via a new SupportService,
exposed as AmazonConnection.Support:
- ListCases (POST /support/2025-02-01/cases): auto-pages on nextToken,
honours MaxNumberOfPages and surfaces NextToken on the parameter, with
  ListCasesByNextToken for manual paging.
- GetCase (GET /cases/{caseId}).
- ListContacts (GET /cases/{caseId}/contacts): same paging pattern, with
  ListContactsByNextToken.

Models under AmazonSpApiSDK/Models/Support are generated from Amazon's
support_2025-02-01.json in the existing swagger-codegen style. Fields the
model marks x-amzn-api-internal (ListCasesRequest.marketplaceId/sortField,
Case.lastOutboundDate) are omitted, as they are not in the public reference.
Parameterless JSON constructors are public to satisfy ExecuteRequestAsync<T>.

Amazon has not published usage plans for this API, so the rate limits are
conservative defaults (1 req/s, burst 1); the limiter adopts the
x-amzn-RateLimit-Limit header from the first response.

Also adds SupportSample.cs and a README section.

Tests: added SupportTests (13 cases) covering deserialisation of Amazon's
sandbox responses, request body and query serialisation, validation and
rate-limit registration. Full suite passes (17/17).

📝 Walkthrough

This change adds Support API v2025-02-01 support for listing cases, retrieving cases, and listing contacts. It adds API models, service methods, connection wiring, rate limits, tests, examples, and README documentation.

Changes: Support API

Layer / File(s) Summary
Case and request contracts
Source/FikaAmazonAPI/AmazonSpApiSDK/Models/Support/{DateFilter,PhoneNumber,CallbackTiming,Appointment,Case,CaseFilters,ListCasesRequest,ListCasesResult,Error,ErrorList}.cs
Adds serialized case, filter, request, result, callback, phone number, and error models. The models include constructor checks and validation for required values, result limits, and subject keyword length.
Contact and channel contracts
Source/FikaAmazonAPI/AmazonSpApiSDK/Models/Support/{Attachment,Participant,ChatEvent,ChatContent,EmailContent,PhoneContent,Contact,ListContactsResult}.cs
Adds contact response models for email, chat, and phone channels, plus participant, attachment, and contact pagination models.
Support operations and connection wiring
Source/FikaAmazonAPI/Parameter/Support/*, Source/FikaAmazonAPI/Services/{ApiUrls,SupportService}.cs, Source/FikaAmazonAPI/AmazonConnection.cs, Source/FikaAmazonAPI/Utils/{RateLimitType,RateLimitsDefinitions}.cs
Adds Support request parameters and URLs. SupportService implements case listing, case retrieval, contact listing, validation, and page aggregation. AmazonConnection initializes and exposes the service. The three operations receive rate-limit definitions.
Examples, documentation, and tests
Source/FikaAmazonAPI.SampleCode/SupportSample.cs, README.md, Source/Tests/SupportTests.cs
Adds examples for filtering and paging cases, retrieving a case, and listing contacts by channel. The README documents the required role and attachment URL expiry. Tests cover deserialization, request construction, validation, equality, and rate-limit registration.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 80b2d

Support is broadly usable, but invalid page limits can fetch unexpected data and future enum values may break response deserialization.

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 80b2d

The integration uses the existing authenticated connection and does not introduce a separate service or persistent state transition. No new authorization bypass was established. Sensitive response data, external token requirements, and inherited diagnostic and concurrent-use behavior warrant attention.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The intended exposure is support data available to the connection's requesting identity, potentially across all returned case pages when filters and page limits are omitted. The new methods do not introduce a separate identity-selection mechanism; actual upstream account and role enforcement was not independently verified.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — Documentation requires the Selling Partner Support (Restricted) role, but all three operations use the normal access-token path. The shared authorization implementation selects a restricted-data token only when explicitly supplied a qualifying PII parameter. The role wording alone does not establish that Support requires that token flow.
  • observed — Support responses enter existing full-payload diagnostics when IsDebugMode is enabled. That flag defaults false. Request token headers are masked, but response bodies are written to Console and the configured logger without field redaction, including any returned support content or download URLs. This diagnostic policy predates the PR and already applies to sensitive operations; log readership and URL access semantics remain unknown.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — Concurrent calls on one Support instance can contend over inherited mutable request, client, and token fields; sharing a pagination parameter can also race on NextToken. The same transport and paging pattern exists in base services. This is an inherited operation-isolation limitation, not demonstrated cross-credential access or a newly established security regression. Runtime sharing and thread-safety expectations are unavailable.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Consider metadata-only or field-redacted diagnostics for Support communications and attachment URLs, preserving troubleshooting information without copying full sensitive payloads into additional retention systems.

Avoid a closed enum for the server-provided chat event type.

A new event type from Amazon makes StringEnumConverter throw. The whole contacts page then fails to deserialize. Chat event types are likely to grow over time. Use a string or add a fallback value.

Based on learnings: avoid mapping server-provided values that may gain new variants to an enum type.

Equals throws when input.Attachments is null.

If this.Attachments is non-null and input.Attachments is null, SequenceEqual throws ArgumentNullException. This is a generated-code pattern. It also appears in ChatContent, EmailContent, and ListContactsResult. Fix it in the generator if possible. Otherwise accept the risk.

Avoid a closed enum for the server-provided role value.

RoleEnum is mapped with StringEnumConverter. If Amazon adds a new role, deserialization of the whole contact response fails for older SDK clients. A failure here also breaks ListContactsAsync for the whole page. Use a string property, or add an explicit unknown fallback.

Based on learnings: avoid mapping server-provided values that may gain new variants to an enum type. The same concern applies to ChatEvent.TypeEnum and Contact.ChannelEnum. The generated-model convention in this repository may justify keeping the enums. If so, accept the risk knowingly.

⚠️ Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

Add a parameterless constructor with [JsonConstructor].

PhoneContent has only a constructor with an optional parameter. Newtonsoft.Json can use it, but the other models in this PR declare an explicit [JsonConstructorAttribute] parameterless constructor. Match that convention. This makes deserialization behavior explicit.

Testing status: this has not yet been tested against the live Support API. The Selling Partner Support role is restricted and needs a Data Protection Policy review, which I have not completed yet.

The implementation is covered by unit tests built from Amazon's sandbox responses in the published model, and the solution builds and passes the full suite. If anyone already holds the Selling Partner Support (Restricted) role, a quick amazonConnection.Support.ListCases(new ParameterListCases { MaxNumberOfPages = 1 }) and ListContacts against a real case would be very welcome before this is merged.

The generated Equals compared list properties with SequenceEqual without
checking the other instance's list, so comparing a model that has a list
against one that does not threw ArgumentNullException instead of
returning false. Raised by CodeRabbit on abuzuhri#960.

Tests: added Equals_ReturnsFalseWhenOnlyOneSideHasAList. Full suite passes (18/18).

@coderabbitai thanks for the review.

  • Equals throwing on a null list: fixed in 80b2dc0. Every list comparison in the Support models now checks the other side for null before SequenceEqual, and there is a regression test (Equals_ReturnsFalseWhenOnlyOneSideHasAList).
  • Closed enums for ChatEvent.type, Contact.channel and Participant.role: leaving these as they are. Every generated model in this library uses closed StringEnumConverter enums for server-provided values, so switching only the Support models to strings would make them inconsistent with the rest of the SDK. If the maintainers would prefer a library-wide approach to unknown enum values, that would be better handled as a separate change.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Hash lists consistently with Equals.

If two Case instances contain separate lists with the same elements, Equals returns true, but these lines can return different hash codes. A HashSet<Case> can then fail to find an equal case. Compute list hashes from their elements, and apply the same correction to the other Support models that use SequenceEqual with list GetHashCode. Equal objects must have equal hash codes. @ProNotion thanks for the fix and the guidance.

  • Null-list equality: I verified that all SequenceEqual calls in the Support models now check both lists for null. Equals_ReturnsFalseWhenOnlyOneSideHasAList checks both comparison directions for ChatEvent.Attachments. This addresses the reported exception. I inspected the test but did not run it.
  • Closed enums: The existing generated models support your consistency rationale. I withdraw the recommendation to change only the Support enums. Unknown-value handling is better considered as a library-wide change.

Would you like a follow-up issue for library-wide unknown-enum handling?

Live validation remains unverified. Before merging, I recommend the requested ListCases and ListContacts checks with credentials that have the Selling Partner Support (Restricted) role.

Learning: In this C# SDK, generated models use closed enums with Newtonsoft.Json StringEnumConverter. Retain that convention for ChatEvent.TypeEnum, Contact.ChannelEnum, and Participant.RoleEnum under Source/FikaAmazonAPI/AmazonSpApiSDK/Models/Support. Treat support for unknown server-provided enum values as a library-wide design change rather than requesting Support-only string replacements.
