Update (2026-09-16)

Summary

This branch was rebuilt from CLI dev at 2dea6340b (after #6). The earlier branch was based on 923a91f and conflicted with dev.

The previous SDK pin was github:polymorfa/sdks#00e9b05ec886db4cde77456af7b58d70eed88357 (superseded, see update above), the then-head of polymorfa/sdks#12. That SDK head follows API contract polymorfa/polymorfa@1600403db9dcf7996dbbb882375b1165859829d3. package-lock.json was regenerated from a clean install; only the SDK entry changed.

Changes

  • Customer commands
    • Removed customer create --phone, customer update --phone and --clear-phone. The Customer contract has no phone field.
    • Removed customer pairing-link create --locale and --theme. The pairing-link create request doesn't accept them.
    • --expected-phone, --method and --expires-in stay.
    • Customer list output shows the external ID in place of the removed masked phone. Customer detail output no longer has a Phone row.
  • QuickLink settings (widget view / widget update)
    • Human output replaces the retired "Redirect URIs" row with "Success callback URL", "Failure callback URL" and "Allow phone change".
    • widget update still passes a JSON object through from --input. It has no per-field flags, so no settings flags were added.
  • Tests
    • Customer create/update and pairing-link request bodies no longer include the removed fields.
    • A new test checks that --phone, --clear-phone, --locale and --theme are rejected with exit code 2 before any HTTP request.
    • A new test checks that Customer output has no phone.
    • Widget fixtures now use the contract's QuickLinkSettings shape, the update test sends the callback and allowPhoneChange fields, and a new human-output test covers the new rows.
  • README
    • Removed Customer phone from the example and documented --expected-phone.
    • Documented the saved callback URLs, allowPhoneChange and the Premium requirement for hideWatermark, with the absence of a redirect allowlist.
    • Corrected the settings scope from widget:create to quicklink:manage, which is what the pinned contract requires.

Already on dev (not re-applied)

Client/validateOrganizationApiKey migration, /platform and /messaging routes, raw API examples, and QuickLink creation through configuration.

Dropped

  • internal/cloud-launch.md: it recorded superseded API/SDK commits.
  • The old README note about connection preference/enforcement in saved settings: the pinned settings contract has no such fields; they belong to QuickLink configuration.

Verification

npm ci (clean install) passed, then npm run verify passed:

  • format check: passed
  • lint: passed
  • typecheck: passed
  • npm test: 30 files, 263 tests passed
  • build: passed
  • npm pack --dry-run --ignore-scripts: passed, 652 files
  • npm audit --omit=dev: 0 vulnerabilities

The built CLI help no longer lists --phone on customer create/update or --locale/--theme on customer pairing-link create.

Not exercised: requests against a live API.

Five-part assessment

Part Status Notes
API Unaffected No API change. The CLI follows contract 1600403 through the SDK pin.
SDKs Updated Depends on polymorfa/sdks#12 at 00e9b05, which must merge to SDK dev before this pin points at a reviewed branch.
CLI Updated Customer flags, output, widget settings output, tests and the SDK pin. Removing the flags is a breaking change for scripts that passed them.
Docs Updated (CLI README); public docs unaffected Public Mintlify pages on API dev already describe Customer profiles without phone, --expected-phone semantics and saved callback URLs.
Feature releases Unaffected No flags or entitlements. The API enforces the Premium requirement for hideWatermark and QuickLink scopes. Nothing is published.

Not merged; the draft status is unchanged.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Changes

    • Customer creation and updates no longer accept phone numbers; customer listings and details no longer display phone information.
    • Customer updates require a name or external customer ID.
    • Pairing links support expected phone values and no longer support per-link language or theme options.
    • QuickLink settings display callback URLs and phone-change permissions instead of redirect URLs.
  • Documentation

    • Updated QuickLink terminology, permissions, phone reservation behavior, watermark settings, and configuration examples.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The CLI removes phone fields from customer commands and output, removes pairing-link locale and theme options, and updates QuickLink settings to use callback URLs and phone-change policy fields. Documentation, tests, and the SDK dependency are updated.

Changes

Customer and QuickLink alignment

Layer / File(s) Summary
Customer and pairing-link contracts
src/commands/customer/*, src/services/customers.ts, test/commands/customers.test.ts, README.md
Customer creation and updates no longer accept phone values. Pairing links no longer accept locale or theme overrides. Customer output uses external customer IDs and omits phone data. Tests cover the updated requests, output, and rejected flags.
QuickLink settings and documentation
src/services/platform-management.ts, test/commands/platform-management.test.ts, package.json, README.md
QuickLink settings use callback URLs and phone-change policy fields. Documentation and fixtures reflect the current settings model. The SDK dependency points to a newer commit.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes

Change: Bug fix

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 581fe

The Customer JSON contract change is not fully protected by its test, allowing a regression to pass unnoticed. The remaining merge risk is low because no current production failure was established.

@purpshell purpshell changed the title Fix CLI Customer and Platform contracts for Cloud launch Remove Customer phone and align QuickLink settings with SDK 00e9b05 Sep 16, 2026
Pin @polymorfa/sdk to github:polymorfa/sdks#00e9b05ec886db4cde77456af7b58d70eed88357,
which aligns QuickLink settings and Customer types with API 1600403.
Drop customer create --phone and customer update --phone/--clear-phone, and
the pairing-link --locale/--theme flags, which the Customer contract no longer
accepts. Keep --expected-phone. Show the external ID instead of a masked phone
in Customer lists and remove the phone row from Customer output. Replace the
redirect-URI row in widget settings output with the success and failure
callback URLs and the phone-change policy. Tests reject the retired flags
before any request.
Remove Customer phone from examples, document --expected-phone, the saved
callback URLs and allowPhoneChange, and correct the settings scope to
quicklink:manage.

🟡 Minor · Assert the complete Customer list JSON response.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Assert the complete Customer list JSON response.

The customer list --json path serializes the returned value unchanged. toMatchObject ignores extra properties, so an emitted phone field can pass. Use toEqual with an independently defined complete expected response; the mock and expectation currently share customerSummary(), so changing that helper alone would not detect the regression.
